Shazia Amar, DPM, attended the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY, and received her podiatric medicine doctor degree in 2002. Then, she served her podiatric medicine residency with the New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Furthermore, Dr. Amar completed her foot and ankle surgery fellowship at Long Island University. In addition, she received board certification in foot and ankle surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is also board certified in podiatric medicine with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. And, Dr. Amar remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations. Prior to her podiatric medicine degree, she completed her BA degree in biochemistry and chemistry at New York University and her MS degree in Biochemistry at Long Island University. She feels that that being a doctor is not just about medical expertise because compassion and understanding are an integral part of the healing process. Dr. Amar dedicates her spare time to cooking, traveling, jogging, and working out at the gym. A movie buff, she loves action films and thrillers.
